We take light for granted, much as we do the existence of air and water. Light is the visible result of an energy source and can not, however, be regarded in the same manner as air and water.

Air and water can be distinguished primarily in two categories: good or bad, warm or cold. Our expectations in regard to light are much higher. We are no longer satisfied merely with brightness or dark.

It is widely acknowledged that light plays an important role in our well-being. In the private sphere, be it at home or in the course of our daily activities,  the fitting light and ambience greatly contributes to our experience. Also in the work place and where we shop, we appreciate the benefit of good lighting.
